Welcome to Shape Your Life (SYL)


What is Shape Your Life (SYL)?  — SYL provides free, recreational boxing for women (self-identified) who have experienced violence. SYL is place to learn how to box in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.  The SYL boxing classes are designed for beginners and are held at the Toronto Newsgirls Boxing Club once a week. Each class is two hours long.

This is a free program. Equipment, TTC and free snacks are provided.

The current SYL session is Saturday 2:30 – 4:30, August 20 – November 19, 2016.

  • SYL participants are also invited to join us for a drop-in boxing session with coaches and Tania every Sunday 2:30-4:30.

  • SYL participants (who just finished the SYL program) are also invited to a weekly free yoga session, led by yoga instructor Kim McBean. Yoga is Mondays 1:30-2:30 for SYL participants only.
